A surprise proposal in Valencia can cost as little as 250 € for a photographer in a public garden, or well over 1,500 € with decor, flowers, music and a private dinner. Most couples we work with land somewhere in between: photos and a simple setup in a quiet spot, then dinner in the old town. Below is what each part costs, from a photo and video duo who plans proposals here every season. If you already know what you want, see our surprise proposal photo and video in Valencia.
A Quick Budget at a Glance
- Proposal photographer: 250-400 €. About 1.5 hours, photos in 3 to 5 days.
- Photo and video together: from 400 €. Both of us on the day, film in 3 to 5 days.
- Decor setup (picnic, candles, sign): from 150 €. Set up before, cleared after.
- Bouquet from a florist: from 100 €. Delivered at the exact moment.
- Champagne and light bites: from 100 €. Usually part of the decor setup.
- Dinner for two after: on request. Restaurant in the old town or by the sea.
- Private venue (rooftop, courtyard): on request. Arranged through a planner.
- Public garden or beach: free. No permit needed for a natural-light session.
The Photographer: Where Most of the Budget Goes
Proposal photographers in Valencia usually charge between 250 and 600 € for a session of about an hour and a half. The price depends on time, the number of edited photos, weekend dates and how fast you get the gallery. Our sessions start from 250 €, and photos arrive within 3 to 5 days.
The proposal itself lasts seconds. What you pay for is the planning before it: the cover story, the spot chosen for the light at that hour, and someone hidden in the right place when you kneel. The relaxed portraits right after the yes are where most of the gallery comes from.
Video: The Part Photos Can’t Keep
We film proposals only together with photography, so video means both of us come. One photographs, the other films, and the moment is captured from two angles at once. A short film shows what single photos can’t: the walk, her first reaction and the hug right after. Photo and video together start from 400 €, and the film arrives in 3 to 5 days.
Decor, Flowers and Champagne
A decorated spot changes the feeling of the moment: she walks into something prepared just for her. Our decor setups start from 150 € and can include a picnic with cushions and candles, a sign, champagne and a few light bites. The final price depends on what you'd like to include.
Flowers are ordered separately from a trusted local florist and delivered at exactly the right moment. A bouquet usually costs between 100 and 200 €, depending on size and season. Around Valentine's Day prices go up sharply, which is one more reason to avoid February 14.
The Location: Free or Private
Most of Valencia's best proposal spots cost nothing. Jardines de Monforte, Viveros Park and the dunes of El Saler are public, with no entrance fee and no permit needed for a natural-light session. We compare ten of them in our guide on where to propose in Valencia.
A truly private spot, such as a hotel courtyard, a rooftop or a garden closed for you alone, is a different budget. It's arranged through a local planner who negotiates directly with the venue, and the price depends on the place and the date.

Where Couples Overspend, and Where They Shouldn't Save
The most common waste is paying for a famous location that is full of tourists at the hour you need it. A quiet garden at the right time looks better in photos than a landmark at noon. The other is booking on a busy date, when florists and decorators charge more and have less time for you.
Where not to save: the photographer. Flowers fade and dinner ends, but the photos and film are the part you'll show your family and keep for decades.
About Darista Team
We are Yuri and Darina, a husband-and-wife photo and video duo based in Valencia. Most of our proposal clients plan from abroad, so we help with more than the photos: the cover story, the spot, and trusted decorators and florists who deliver on time. On the day, one of us photographs and the other films.
FAQ: Proposal Costs in Valencia
Is there a fee to propose in a public park in Valencia?
No. Gardens like Monforte and Viveros and the beach at El Saler are free, and a natural-light photo session there needs no permit.

Can the photographer also film a few clips on a phone to save money?
No. The proposal itself lasts less than a minute, and one person can’t catch the question, the reaction and the first hug on camera while also holding a phone steady for video. Something always gets missed. That’s why we work as two: one of us photographs, the other films, and neither has to choose.

Do I pay everything in advance?

We take a deposit to hold your date and the rest after the session. Decorators and florists have their own terms, and we'll tell you what they are before you confirm.

Are there any extra costs on top of the session price?
Within Valencia city, no: the price covers the session, editing and delivery. Travel outside the city, to the Albufera or the Costa Blanca, is added at 100-300 €. Flowers, decor and dinner are paid to those vendors directly.
