Wedding Photographer on the Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca is the stretch of coast south of Valencia where the mountains come right down to the sea. In one short drive you pass white hill towns, small fishing harbors, rocky coves with clear water and old estates hidden in the pines. For a wedding, that means you don't have to choose between a beach, a village and a finca. You can have all three in one day.

What makes a wedding here different is the setting changing within an hour: morning in a villa above the sea, afternoon under pine trees at a masía, evening light on white walls. We photograph it the way it happens, without turning your day into a photoshoot, and we plan around the light so each place looks its best.

Fincas and Estates on the Costa Blanca

Most weddings here don't happen in towns. They happen at fincas, old estates and villas spread across the hills between the mountains and the sea. A few of the places couples ask us about most:

  1. Finca El Senyoret. A restored 1880 masía in the hills behind Benidorm, with a ceremony space under the pines and a long banquet under string lights. We've photographed here and wrote a full guide to Finca El Senyoret.
  2. Masos Guadalest. A winery estate in the Guadalest Valley, under the Sierra de Aitana, where modern architecture meets vineyards and mountain views. We've photographed here and wrote a full guide to Masos de Guadalest.
  3. Finca Marqués de Montemolar. A historic estate above the bay of Altea, protected as local heritage, with gardens and wide views over the sea.
  4. Casa Santonja. A garden estate in Beniarbeig, near Dénia and Jávea, with its own chapel and a pond among the trees.
  5. Racó del Pastor. A former horse stable in Orba turned into a countryside venue, with plenty of space indoors and out.
  6. Hotel Vivood. A design hotel in the mountains of Benimantell, near Guadalest, where the ceremony aisle runs over the water.

We describe the estates we've worked at in more detail, with photos and notes on light and capacity, in our guide to wedding venues near Valencia.

"Have You Photographed at Our Finca?"

It's one of the first questions couples ask. Between Valencia and the Costa Blanca there are more than 500 fincas and villas that host weddings, so nobody has worked at all of them, and some on the list above are still new to us. Honestly, that's the part we enjoy. Every photographer sees a new place in their own way, and a fresh location keeps our eyes sharp. We always try to show the atmosphere of the finca, but it's the backdrop, not the story. The story is the two of you, your parents and your guests.

The estates here are spread out, sometimes an hour apart along the coast and into the hills. We travel in our own car and handle our own logistics, so none of that ends up on your bill as travel costs.

How We Plan a Wedding Day on the Coast

The sun sets behind the mountains inland, so white towns and coves fall into shade earlier than people expect. We plan portraits for the late afternoon and keep the open horizon by the sea for the last frames of the day. In summer we avoid midday outdoors, especially for a groom in a suit.

Because distances are short, it's easy to add a second place for your photos. A popular plan is a cove in the afternoon and a white town before dinner: see our wedding photoshoot at Cala del Moraig and how we work as a wedding photographer in Altea.

Planning a Costa Blanca Wedding From Abroad

Most couples we photograph here live somewhere else: the UK, the US, northern Europe. We work in English from the first message to the last photo, and we're used to guests arriving from five countries at once. During group photos we call people by name, explain what's happening and keep it quick, so nobody misses the cocktail. We also speak Ukrainian and a little bit in Spanish, which helps more often than you'd think.

Booking a photographer you haven't met takes some trust. We're happy to have a video call before you decide, and we work easily with your planner and the venue team on timings. On the day we dress smart and neutral, arrive early, and stay out of the way when we should. Your guests should remember the wedding, not the photographers.

About Darista Wedding Photographers

We are Yuri and Darina, a husband-and-wife duo and destination wedding photographers in Spain, based in Valencia. We've photographed more than 300 weddings since 2010 and are members of the WPJA, the Wedding Photojournalist Association. As wedding photographers on the Costa Blanca, we always work as two: one of us follows the day as it happens, the other works with you on portraits and keeps an eye on the light. Every package includes film, and for big estates and coastal views we often suggest drone wedding photography, because the scale of the place only really shows from above.

FAQ: Planning Your Wedding on the Costa Blanca

Which airport is best for a Costa Blanca wedding?

Alicante, for most of the coast. From Altea, Benidorm or Calpe it's the closest option. For Jávea and Dénia, Valencia and Alicante are roughly the same distance, so it's worth comparing flights.

When is the best time of year to get married on the Costa Blanca?

May, June, September and October. Warm but not heavy, the sea at its best, and softer light than in high summer.

Can we combine a finca wedding with photos by the sea?

Yes, it's one of our favorite plans. Ceremony and dinner at the estate, and an hour in the afternoon for the two of you at a cove or in a white town nearby.

Do you photograph weddings in Alicante city too?

Yes. Alicante, Dénia and everything in between is part of our usual route as a wedding photographer on the Costa Blanca.

Do we pay extra for your travel between venues?

No. Fincas on the Costa Blanca can be an hour apart, and we drive between them in our own car. Fuel, tolls and parking are on us, not on your bill.

Can you fly a drone at our Costa Blanca wedding?

In most places, yes. Some areas are restricted, like the zone around Alicante airport and natural parks such as the Peñón de Ifach, so we check the official drone map for your venue before the day and tell you in advance what's possible.

How much does a wedding photographer cost on the Costa Blanca?

Our packages start from 2,100 € for up to 8 hours with two photographers. Most couples here choose 10 to 12 hours, because the day often moves between two or three places.

How soon will we see our photos?

You get a sneak peek within a few days after the wedding, and the full gallery follows once every image is edited. We tell you the exact date when we book.
